Thump, Thump. That first thump was the sound of the good Rev. Wright tossing Obama under the bus yesterday, and the second was the sound of Barry O returning the favor today. I've only got two things to say (for now) on the matter: (1) Wright is scum and (2) Obama was an idiot to wait this long to give that lump of egocentric dead-weight the half-ass heave-ho.

I don't think that it makes Obama an idiot more than it shows that he doesn't back stab, he is loyal, and tries to give people a chance.
BUT for the sake of his career... maybe he should have kicked him to the curb a long time ago but then you would wonder how quick he is willing to judge someone based on what they tell him rather than what he knew about the person.
Thanks for the thoughtful comment Monique, and I must say I get what you're saying.
I would normally cmpletely agree with you and I think your approach is a healthy one for someone who isn't running for President (a good relationship should be one in which those who know a us would trust the person that they know and not treat us unkindly based upon some third party's opinion).
But lets be serious here- Politics is a contact sport, and a politician has to weigh things you or I wouldn't, lest they repeat the same dumb mistakes that have torpedoed past presidential aspirants.
Dukakis and Kerry both saw their presidential hopes tank because they let just this kind of thing get away from them (ie. the Willie Horton/Swift Boat controversies).
Obama, never should have let this become an issue that overshadows his powerful message.
I think Obama has a lot to offer America but i refuse to drink the Kool-Aid give him a free pass on his handling of this. Hope and Change have been pushed aside by nonsense, and Obama never should have let it happen.
Personally I think the topic is ridiculous. The need to castrate Obama is so severe that the media has to make things out of what OTHERS say and not Obama's record or his words.
That is not to say that one could conclude that to some extent Obama must support some of the views of a person that he considered close to him BUT that would be an ASSUMPTION.
I think America has a bad case of hanging by media. It will take a lot more than what the man does in his personal life ALL THE WAY AROUND before I can turn against him
It is ridiculous and I hope it's over now that Obama has been cornered into (by Wright's performances) coming out forcefully, drawing even more clear distinctions between whatever views Wright holds about the Second Reconstruction and his own on the nature of 21st century Civil Rights.
A friend of a friend (I've been a fan of Free's (as in Jeffrey) blog The WSNS for some and highly recommend it) has a really interesting take on the whole thing here.
I think it will be interesting what comes up over the next few months. If that is the best low blow that they can come up with THANK GOD if it isn't... I think that Obama is presidential enough man to come through in shining armor on a white horse, oops I mean house *wink*
Monique! Love that! White-Horse/House. Made me smile, thanks.
Obama (should I call him Sir Obama?)has an unflappably cool,"even" bearing and it's hard to imagine a guy more suited to handle what will surely be a season of unfair Right Wing (Fox/Hannity) attacks.
God those Guys drone on about the most asinine things. Guilt by ass...ociation run amok. Remember the Farrakhan flap? Did you see this vid of Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell (the huge Hillary supporter, and front row player in the Pennsylvania Primary)?
While Obama was forced to repudiate and denounce a tangential relationship, Rendell's enthusiastic praise of very same man went almost unnoticed.
Disgusting really.
woooo... just watched it :) I am not going to touch on that one lol. I have my own opinion on that one that I don't know if I want to put on the net :)
Obama is going to have to face some SERIOUS stuff on this journey and the biggest one IN MY OPINION is how he deals with the black community during this campaign/administration. Because at the end of the day that is where he will find himself, where he is most comfortable as an individual and if the black community perceives him as a "(plug in any of our slurs for one another here they might all fit)" then living the rest of his life after this could be very empty.
How very true. Obama has to walk the kind of tightrope no political candidate in the history of presidential politics has.
The post was:
1: Concise
2: 100% accurate.
And you even managed to include the bus reference. Great stuff.
Moo Chews Grassy A's Roland! Your comment was also quite the tightly wrapped piece of commentary. Spleas stop by and visit again...and again...and again. I like your style!
