Free-Market Free-Tibet

Hello, this is my first post, hope you enjoy it. Feel free to toss in your 2 cents in in the comments section. Turns out that though the Chinese government is a half-breed Communist/Capitalist beast, at once capable of flooding the world with cheap everything while at the same time crushing the spirit of a peace loving people yearning for freedom (Tibet), its people have fully embraced the ethos of Western Capitalism.

Yesterday I happened to catch a BBC News story on a factory in China's Guangdong (廣東) province on it's southern coast. The enterprising capitalists there were poised to capitalize on the world attention on Tibet. The factory was producing Free Tibet flags for an international order until a worker, who happened to see some TV images of the protests surrounding the Tibetan crackdowns, reported it to authorities.

Seems that though while we have trouble exporting freedom to totalitarian and communist corners of the globe, we have had no problem closing the sale when it comes to capitalism. We in America often make the mistake of thinking that "free-market"capitalism is synonymous with
freedom and democracy. Clearly not. Free Tibet. Much love-PolitiGal.

Thanks for stopping by Rachel and taking the time to make a girl feel welcome. It's great to meet the neighbors(especially some one as kind as you apparently are).

Hopefully my blog life won't be as foot-in-mouth as my day to day, but, knowing me...well sometimes I just can't help myself.
