Proud. Been a long time.
Awesome!
There seems to be a permanent lump in my throat and tear in my eye... I am so very, very proud to have been a part of the "Change We Need" movement. My chest will forever be stuck out, even when President-elect Obama falters. He's some kind of special, that Barack Obama! And who would have thunk it - little black girls are gonna run the halls of the White House... man!
Amen -- I live in Chicago so it was an awesome evening!
Congratulations to Barack Obama on becoming the 44th president of the United States. People just get so passionate when it comes to elections... and I hope that now everyone can come together and just live on. (There seemed to be a lot of tension this election season is all.)
Wow! It's good to see the rest of the world celebrating with us.
Congratulations to America!
I am so excited!! I don't even know what to say!
Great choice America! Now for the work to be done to restore America's credibility on the world stage plus fix all of Bush's domestic screwups.
Obama supporters got their man. A few questions:
What now is the role of the U.S. military in the world?
How, specifically, will the Obama administration help the economy?
Will Obama, unlike Bill Clinton, follow through with his tax cut to the middle class?
Will Obama, Pelosi and Reid truly govern from the center?
George Miller, who heads the House committee that deals with 401(k)s, wants to eliminate this tax subsidy. He and others want to put this all under Social Security, and let the government take control of it. Will this be attractive to the Obama administration? (The mainstream media did not talk about this issue during the campaign.)
After the announcement that Obama had won the election, why were some of his supporters outside the White House carrying the Soviet flag?
Finally, during the last couple of years, Obama has been pouring honey in so many people’s ears. During his acceptance speech at Grant Park in Chicago, why did he begin to lower the expectations of his administration?
Obama - “The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even in one term.”
And this also from Obama’s Grant Park speech:
Obama - “There will be setbacks and false starts… We know the government can’t solve every problem… Above all, I will ask you to join in the work of remaking this nation.”
Obama campaigned on Hope and Change. Reality is now setting in.
Thank you in advance, for truthfully answering these questions.
All I can say, is thank Goddess! It's about time America woke up from its Neo-con brainwashed coma and voted for change!
Those pictures were pretty cool.
I am shamed to see so many great people around the world celebrating our success when we don't usually notice when their countries have an election let alone the names of the people running!
These are great pictures it is very exciting
Great pics, thanks for sharing these! Congrats to all of us!
What I love the most about the world's response to Obama is, other countries see Obama as such a radical break from US history that they appear willing to start over with us. We have a chance to redefine global politics almost any way we want to. This is the closest to a blank slate that this country has ever seen.
I hope Obama doesn't allow American fear to prevent him from redefining relationships with countries like Iran. This is truly an incredible opportunity.
My gawd this is so gorgeous!
America has a renewed sense of spirt,so glad to be a part of this history.
Take Care,
Janet :)
great post. love the pics!
That sand sculpture is crazy cool! ;)
Obama really inspire many people that dream can come true regardless whether we are black, white and yellow.
wish you happy and healthy and wealthy.
The planet is still celebrating!
But, as we noted on the Powerhouse Ministry blog, there are those obstinate... erm... individuals... who want to keep the negativity from the campaign alive.
Let's keep shining the light until we obliterate the darkness!
Wow, wow!
Awesome!
what a great collection of images capturing the world's reaction to obama's victory. you must be so proud...
